Bodie is a real ghost town - a leftover from a gold rush in 1877 to 1881. There use to live 10.000 people here and 95% of the buildings have burned to the ground since then, but there is still a lot to look at.
Really interesting break in all the nature related stops we made. Bodie is now back on the map again as it now holds status of national park and have tons of tourists coming by every day.
This place had 65 saloons and there was shootings, holdups and bank robberies on a daily basis. One of the wildest wild west towns of the old wild west. ;-)
