Day 40. Yellowstone - and going south.

We started early - scary stuff. ;-) we had to get the most out of the day, so we got up by sunrise to see some more hot springs. There is a really big one - Grand Prismatic Spring - that is very beautiful. The only problem was that it was completely covered in steam from the pool.

While we waited for the sun to do its job we went to a few nearby sites.

When the pool was finally visible, we returned to take a closer look. It was a truly spectacular sight. It seems so surreal to see all the boiling water and colors in nature.

We left Yellowstone with a tear in our eyes and set of for the south of Wyoming to meet On and Tod. Unfortunately, Tod had an appointment in Denmark, so he had left the day before we could get there. But On is a great gal so we where looking forward to see her. It's a long drive so we had to stop and sleep about 50 miles before we got to her house - damn. :-)
